Mr. Sterlin McGruder

Principal

Since 2022, I have been the principal of Waco High School in Waco, Texas. Prior to that, I served as the Principal of Northeast Early College High School and Gus Garcia Young Men’s Leadership Academy in Austin, Texas. My journey in education also includes a 13-year tenure with Grand Prairie ISD, where I held various leadership and teaching roles, including Principal of the Young Men’s Leadership Academy at Kennedy Middle School, David Daniels Elementary, and the District Alternative Education Program. 

I hold a Master of Science degree in Education from Texas A&M University-Commerce and a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from East Texas State University. 

I am married to Carla McGruder, a Certified Genetic Counselor, and together we have three beautiful girls. I am thrilled to join Fort Worth ISD and become a part of the Marine Creek Collegiate High School community. I look forward to bringing a shared vision of efficacy, student achievement, and personal growth to our students and staff. With enthusiasm and dedication, I am eager to contribute to the ongoing success and development of Marine Creek Collegiate High School.
